Members of Crow Tribe vote to ratify water rights settlement
Monday, March 21, 2011
Filed Under: Environment | Law | Politics

Members of the Crow Tribe of Montana overwhelmingly voted to approve a water right settlement that was signed into law by President Barack Obama last December.

The unofficial tally was a 2,347 to 917 in favor of the settlement, The Billings Gazette reported.

The deal confirms the tribe's rights to the Bighorn River and Bighorn Lake. It also provides $460 million for water projects on the reservation.
